Muxtape & the Ridiculous Speed of Internet Culture
How fucking crazy and pretentious is the internet? And oh-my-goodness, how fast do things get old?! First there was that White People blog which I guess is kind of old news now but muxtape...? That was this past week's news, right? Like, I totally heard about that for the first time just several days ago. In fact, when I first clicked on the link last week, I recognized a bunch of the muxtape names as Whiskerino alumni and various other bloggers I know. Just a few days after the thing comes to light, it already has stereotypes associated with it; it's already somehow a parody of itself. That's insane. We're talking about less than a week here and it's already stale enough to make fun of! And the sad thing is that it's kind of right on; it's that predictable. I started to upload songs that I wanted people to hear (versus an actual mixtape) and sadly, some of those stereotypes are covered.

Isn't that crazy, though? The internet moves so fast. And it's so pretentious.

Ah, so anyway.....I was just going to use muxtape to upload some stuff for folks to hear. Thomas, you wanted to hear the Lily Allen cover of Mr. Blue Sky so I threw that up there for you. Let me know what you think. Everyone else should take a listen to the Liam Finn track I posted; it's one of my favorites on the album.
