2007 was the year that I figured out I am only able to do one thing with stupid grand amounts of consistency in life; and that is, of course, go to shows. That's me downstairs at the North Star back in February.....the night before I broke my arm and my life changed.
Grand totals:
$250.00 spent on 150 shows in 2007 (approx. $1.67 per show)
Same rules & notes as last year (yes, I made rules):
There are a few question marks in there so if you know what I'm missing let me know. Same if you see any mistakes. There are notes for price and guestlistedness (thankyouthankyouthankyou to everyone that didn't make me pay for things). For a show to count, I have to see at least one band for half the set. As far as New Years Eve shows......as far as I'm concerned, the whole show gets counted for the year it started in.
This year, I managed to take photos at ALL of the shows I went to. (That's a lot of photos.)

I really thought Akron/Family were magic. And I really adored Seth. I broke my arm and missed the Haverford show. The first thing I told my family when I came to after surgery was that I wanted someone to take me to see Akron/Family. This obviously didn't happen. I wasn't satisfied; I spent the next 4 months obsessing over the magic.

You know what? God bless my favorite boys in bands. A month after I broke my arm I went with my mom, stepdad, & stepsister to see the Spintos in C-ville. That show meant a lot to me even though my parents did nothing but complain. (There was also a string of Boris shows that meant the world to me, as well.)

April Shows
There've been a handful of shows in my life where I could just feel the collective joy in the room. This was one of them. I was surrounded by bands and friends and everyone was just so happy. We all danced and the world was sweaty and perfect for one night. Apparently someone else thought so, too; dude was so moved he threw his underwear on stage at Dr. Dog.

I guess I just want to say thanks to everyone that was nice to me and put up with me in 2007. It was possibly the worst year of my life but then I stop and think about all of the amazing music I saw and all of the wonderful people I met........I love you all so much. I've been a mess for the past year and I never seem to know what I want.....except to chase bands, take pictures, and have big adventures. Shows are my saving grace. Without them, I'd have nothing. Literally; what else do I do...? Again; thank you all and I love you.
